|Highway Worker Rescued|

Firefighters from Belmont Hills and Gladwyne were dispatched shortly after 1:00 this morning to the Schuylkill Expressway at Belmont Avenue to assist the Ambulance. Once on scene, firefighters found a worker who had fallen approximately 30-40 feet straight down from a bridge. Now a rescue, Penn Wynne’s Rescue 21 and George Clay’s Squad 39 was called to assist. Over 40 firefighters, policemen, and paramedics worked together on a system of ropes and ladders to rescue the worker.
